Nexon issued a notice regarding account sanctions across Global MapleStory and Global MapleStory Classic World, clarifying enforcement policies ahead of launch.

The PC Cafe Event officially kicked off on September 16 (running through October 30), offering up to 2 hours of playtime per session at participating PC cafes worldwide. Players can explore maps, test classes, and earn exclusive Gold and Bronze Tally rewards plus new avatar items.

Closed Online Test #2 also launched this month with massive balance changes: redesigned skills across all classes, monster reworks, new third-job features, and updated crafting mechanics. Movement skill cooldowns were cut or removed while MP costs were raised. Arrow Rain, Arrow Eruption, and several other skills received significant adjustments.

IGN Live Announcement Trailer — Global MapleStory Classic World was officially showcased at IGN Live on June 6, revealing 2D side-scrolling MMORPG gameplay footage. Founder's Packages went on sale, offering early access starting October 6, 2026.

Closed Online Test #1 kicked off on April 16. The brand-new Forgotten Hollow zone (Lv 39–59) unlocked on April 21, featuring 10 entirely new monsters never seen in any MapleStory version, plus the Rotten Mushmom boss fight. The Citizenship system and six crafting professions were also available for testing.

PC Cafe Event announced — Nexon revealed the Classic World PC Cafe Event, allowing players at participating PC cafes to get up to 2 hours of playtime per session. The event serves as a preview for players who haven't yet experienced Classic World, with exclusive rewards including collectible smart cards shaped like iconic Classic MapleStory items.

MapleCon LA Playtest — The first public in-person playtest took place at MapleCon in Los Angeles on October 16–17. Attendees got hands-on time with the pre-alpha build, providing early feedback on controls, class feel, and the nostalgic art direction.

Inkwell Interview (MMOBomb) — Hanbyeol Oh (Inkwell), Global MapleStory's Chief Product Officer, gave an exclusive interview describing Classic World as "a parallel world where Big Bang never happened" — a version that continued receiving updates while preserving the original design philosophy. He emphasized the team is "indie-sized" and deeply passionate about the classic experience.

Official Announcement — Nexon's Inkwell team officially announced MapleStory Classic World, a faithful recreation of the pre-Big Bang era (v62-era) MapleStory experience. The announcement promised original four classes, classic Victoria Island maps, and a commitment to preserving the 2003–2010 gameplay feel.
