Speed Stages: Lower Number = Faster

From our item database (sourced from CBT2 client), all weapons' speed stage distribution: (204 total weapons with attack speed field in game; no stage 9 exists, slow cap is stage 8.) Pattern is clear: onehanded/thrown weapons are generally fast, twohanded/heavy weapons are generally slow. Between tw

How Stages Translate to Feel: Animation Duration

Key findings from CBT2 community testing: All weapons' base attack animation duration clusters between 764790ms — weapon type itself has minimal impact on animation speed; What truly differentiates attack frequency is the speed stage multiplier: using Normal (stage 6) ≈810ms as baseline, stage 8 ≈90

Booster: What +2 Stages Means

Each class's weapon Booster (Sword/Axe/Mace/Spear/Polearm/Bow/Crossbow/Claw/Dagger acceleration) has unified effect: attack speed increased by 2 stages, lasting 100+ seconds (longer at max level), costing 30 HP/MP each. Slow (stage 7) weapon with Booster → feels like Fast (stage 5); Faster (stage 3)

Haste Does NOT Add Attack Speed!

Thief's Haste description is movement speed +10, jump +1 — it increases movement speed, not attack speed. One of the most common newbie misconceptions. For attack speed, Assassin/Bandit Booster and Bowman equivalents, look for "Attack Speed by 2 stages" wording.

1. Prioritize faster stage for sametier weapons: When ATK difference is within 10%, weapon 12 stages faster yields higher expected DPS; 2. Slowstage highATK weapon + Booster is costeffective combo: maximize panel damage, buff compensates for feel shortcoming; 3. Confirm Booster remaining time before

Q: Attack Speed Benefit Rankings by Class

Assassin: Claws are already in Faster stage (23), Booster adds +2 stages approaching animation floor — fastest attacks in game, also maximizes crit lifesteal passive triggers; Bandit/Bowman: Daggers and bows are mostly Fast stage, entering ultrafast range after Booster; Warrior: Twohanded axes/spear

Attack speed in Classic World isn't a number — it's a "stage" from 2 to 8. This guide explains how to read speed stages, what Booster's +2 stages means, why all weapons have nearly identical base animation durations, and attack speed benefit rankings by class.
