Question 1

When does MapleStory Classic World launch?

Accepted Answer

Founder's Access begins Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM PDT (2:00 PM EDT / 8:00 PM CEST / 4:00 AM AEST October 7). Grand Launch begins Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM PDT. All progress made during Founder's Access carries over to Grand Launch.

Question 2

How to access MapleStory Classic World?

Accepted Answer

Two official routes: the Nexon Launcher or Steam. Install and log in to the Nexon Launcher ahead of time — the Classic World client only appears on launch day via the MapleStory library toggle. On Steam the two games are bundled, so MapleStory must be fully installed and updated before the Classic World option shows up. Link your Nexon account to Steam beforehand.

Question 3

Can I play MapleStory on macOS?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Nexon officially supports both Windows and macOS via the Nexon Launcher or Steam. Controllers are officially supported for DualSense, DualShock and Xbox pads over USB or Bluetooth after enabling controller support in the in-game options.

Question 4

Will MapleStory Classic be free to play?

Accepted Answer

Free to play. Grand Launch is free with a cash shop. Nexon states all Founder's Package items (Snail $29.99, Orange Mushroom $59.99, Zakum $79.99) are purely cosmetic and grant no stats or bonuses. NX balance is shared between MapleStory and Classic World; Maple Points are not.

Question 5

Which country can play MapleStory Classic?

Accepted Answer

It is the Nexon Global service. Nexon states it is available in most regions that can play MapleStory; no separate country list is published. Unsupported regions see a "Not Available in Your Region" notice before checkout, and Player Support handles mistaken blocks. English is officially supported, with Spanish in beta.

Question 6

What is the difference between MapleStory Classic World and modern MapleStory?

Accepted Answer

It is a separate world running alongside modern MapleStory, built around the original pace: only the four original first-job paths (Warrior, Magician, Bowman, Thief — no Pirate), first job advance at level 10 and second at level 30, and legacy scroll-based gear enhancement instead of modern systems. Characters start at level 1, IGNs are not shared, and MVP benefits and Challenger World do not apply. Only NX balance carries across, and account bans are enforced in both worlds.
